What is an upper eyelid?

Erase signs of aging and sagging, and restore a natural, lively expression.

As we reach middle age, the upper eyelids lose elasticity and begin to droop.
When excess skin covers the eyes, it can create a heavy, tired appearance and may even interfere with vision or make opening the eyes feel difficult.

At DU Plastic Surgery, upper eyelid surgery is more than simply removing loose skin.
We precisely analyze the underlying causes of sagging and assess the skin, muscle, and fat layers in three dimensions.
Through this customized approach, we restore the upper eyelids to a brighter, clearer, and more vibrant appearance.

Key points

Key Points of DU Middle-Aged Eye Surgery

The Key to Middle-Aged Eyelid Surgery 01

01

Even considering ptosis correction
delicate surgery

Simply improving sagging eyelids is not enough.
Many middle-aged patients think that the problem is caused by sagging eyelid skin,
In reality, there are many cases where there is also 'ptosis', which is a weakening of the eye-opening muscle (levator palpebrae).

※ DU always diagnoses whether or not there is ptosis.

Distinguishing between skin problems and muscle dysfunction as the cause of drooping eyelids
Check the habit of tensing your forehead when opening your eyes and also check the unconscious eyebrow raising.
If necessary, the strength to open the eyes clearly can be improved by performing levator palpebrae muscle strengthening or muscle adjustment surgery.

02

Even the drooping eyes
Delicate correction

As you get older, not only your eyelids but also the corners of your eyes begin to sag, making your eyes look less natural.
It often comes down and the entire eye looks heavy, like a triangle.
These changes can lead to an aged, lethargic, and tired appearance.

※ DU meticulously corrects even the 'triangle eyes'

The flow of the line from the front of the eye to the tail is not achieved with just the general upper and lower eyelids.
Often times there is no improvement.
DU analyzes the direction of the outer corner of the eye, skin elasticity, and orbicularis oculi muscle.
Lifts the entire eye line to create a soft and youthful look.

03

Endoscopic forehead lift
We can do it together.

※ DU is capable of synergy surgery that takes into account the upper and lower balance.

As we age, not only our eyelids sag, but also our entire forehead and eyebrows.
As you go down, your eyes become more heavy and your expression becomes heavier.
In such cases, it may be difficult to achieve natural and sufficient improvement with just the upper eyelid surgery.

※ DU can consider both eye surgery and endoscopic forehead lift surgery.

In cases of severe eyelid sagging, the muscles around the eyes as well as the forehead and eyebrow position are evaluated.
If necessary, eyebrow lifting or endoscopic forehead lifting can be performed in conjunction to create a naturally refreshed look for the eyes and improve forehead wrinkles.
Create a clearer and more youthful impression than eye surgery alone
