Postoperative Care
- Please be sure to come in for disinfection the day after surgery.
- The actual surgery will be performed 7 days after the surgery, but the date may change depending on the condition.
- Be sure to take your prescribed medication according to the directions and dosage.
- You can shower 3 days after surgery, but be careful to use waterproof tape on the incision area to prevent water from entering.
- Please refrain from smoking and drinking for two weeks after surgery. Sauna, steam room, and strenuous exercise are permitted after four weeks.
- Light walking can help reduce swelling after surgery.
- Compression garments are worn over the surgical site for at least one month to help reduce pain and swelling and to shape the body line.
- Temporary swelling, pain, and bruising may occur after surgery, but will naturally recover over time.
- Bleeding may occur for the first two days after surgery, but this is due to the flow of medications related to the surgery, so you can rest assured.
